Patrick Ssembajjo is an Engineer and is the Managing Director of Buganda
Broadcasting Services (BBS Terefayina), the official Television broadcaster of
Buganda Kingdom in Uganda. He also serves a Consultant Engineer for several
Radio and Television stations both in Uganda and outside.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications Engineering from
Kyambogo University together with three Diplomas that include Higher Diploma
in Telecommunications Engineering from Kyambogo University, Diploma in
Radio & TV Studio Design, Operation and Management from the United States
Telecommunication Training Institute (USTTI), Diploma in Broadcast
Transmitter Operation and Maintenance from United States Telecommunication
Training Institute (USSTI). He also holds a Certificate in Radio and TV
Broadcasting Technology from China, Certificate in FM, TV Equipment &
Antenna systems from Italy, TV Digital Studio broadcast operations, design, set
up & satellite uplink from United Kingdom and TV-U Live Broadcast Technology
from Spain.
Ssembajjo has an experience spanning over 20 years in the Telecommunication
and Broadcasting industry. He previously worked as a Technician at Uganda
Television – the official Uganda government broadcaster now called Uganda
Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), was Head of Technical at Wavah Broadcasting
Services (WBS TV), Consultant Engineer at Kwese Free Sport Uganda (Kwese
TV), Chief Operations Officer at Buganda Broadcasting Services (BBS TV) and
currently is the Managing Director of BBS TV.
He has special skills in Radio and TV Consultancy and has been hired to set up a
number of Radio and TV stations in Uganda, Skills in TV systems integration,
Multimedia staff training and Radio and TV Management. He holds special
professional interest in TV management, Engineering mentorship programmes
and Concept Development.
Ssembajjo is widely exposed, has directly and indirectly worked with several
entities and travelled to different countries as a result of his much-desired skills
in telecommunication. These include MultiChoice Africa (DSTV), Visual
Engineering company, Voice of America, AP News Agency, BBC, SABC, NTV
Kenya, CCTV+ China, Star TV Tanzania, CGTN and Beijing TV, attended
multimedia exhibitions and training workshops in USA, South Africa, NAB
(USA), CABSAT in United Arab Emirates (UAE), IBC in Netherlands, Visited
different multimedia equipment factories and assembling plants including; AXEL
Technologies in Italy, ELNOS in Italy, UBMS in United Arab Emirates (UAE),
WTS in United Kingdom, DB in Italy, ABE in Italy, TIMEX in Italy, FAAPA in
Morocco (Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies), TV-U Networks
Corporation in Spain, Uzbekistan 24 in Uzbekistan,Hariss Factory in USA, Azam
TV, Live-U Limited in Israel, KOFIH in Korea,Korea Foundation-KF, Korean
Culture and Information Services Ministry, SES Beyond Frontiers and others.
